DJ Cynful is a Montreal-based Mexican Canadian DJ with a soft spot for strong female vocals, unexpected drops, and everything sequin.
Raised in a multicultural household, her sound was shaped by the strumming of her dad’s guitar and the boleros he sang that filled the house mixed with the Donna Summer records spinning on her mom’s turntable. Those early influences are what make her sets vibrant, joyful, and unmistakably her own.
Whether on festival stages like SoulFest MTL and the Montreal International Jazz Festival or in dark, intimate rooms where grooves run deep and lights stay low, rooftops and raves, if there’s a dancefloor, Cynful will cherish it, transform it, and sweep you into her world.
A staple of Montreal’s queer nightlife, Cynful isn’t just here to make people dance, she’s here to make them feel safe. Passionately committed to mental health and emotional wellbeing, she uses her platform to foster connection, uplift others, and create spaces where everyone can be themselves, on and off the decks.
